Right now, as you are reading this article, you can see things in two ways: either all pink and flowers or all black. If you choose the second option, bad and bad things are likely to happen, the ones that torment you so much. It is a matter of free will, as simple as it is complex.
Of course, it’s not always possible to flaunt an ear-to-ear smile and think positively. Know, however, that keeping away those thoughts that fuel frustration, fear, anger, sadness, despair and tuning in to thoughts of hope, joy, trust, optimism and well-being is an attitude that certainly makes life easier.
Tell me what you think and I’ll tell you who you are
From an early age we are influenced to perceive reality in a certain way. Our parents, school, our friends and the media affect us with their way of seeing life, for better or for worse. In some ways, we look a bit like software that gets installed on your hard drive and starts automatically… unless you reprogram it.
Fortunately, in recent years science has shown that our brain is quite malleable, that is, it has a property called neuroplasticity that allows it to generate new neuronal circuits, therefore to renew and regenerate itself continuously.
This means that our thoughts are renewable resources and that, regardless of the thoughts we grew up with, for example, that we are not worthy of being loved or that we cannot make our dreams come true, these are perfectly reversible … and it is necessary that are.
Erase everything and start over
The first thing to do is to realize that in our brain there is a program that works mechanically and then identify those negative thoughts that are useless.
Make a list of all the negative ideas you have regarding the different areas of your life: personal, professional, intellectual, financial, torque, social, health, etc. This will give you a way to control those stinging thoughts; by identifying them, in fact, you can arrest them as soon as they appear, preventing them from becoming a part of your person.
Then, set the stage for positive vibes and new thoughts through meditation and relaxation. These resources calm the mind and allow you to connect with your inner voice, intuition and heart, where only thoughts that promote well-being come from. There are different meditation techniques, which use different resources, such as breathing, silence, music, and will help you silence toxic thoughts, clear them from the mind to start over with new positive thoughts.
Finally, dare to look at yourself and situations differently. Take heart and rewrite your history, change the course of your existence. Limits exist only in your mind. The possibilities are endless.
Tune into positive thoughts
To avoid returning to old toxic thoughts again, you can adopt several solutions:
• Devote a certain amount of time to meditation, relaxation and / or breathing exercises, at least once a week.
• Exercise, as it shifts the focus from the mind to the body and oxygenates the brain.
• Avoid toxic relationships and surround yourself with generous and empathetic people with whom to build constructive relationships.
• When you find yourself in front of negative people, “enlighten them”, treating them with kindness and patience: goodness spreads because it is contagious.
• Seek contact with nature, whose serenity and vital energy will help you detoxify and remind you of your inner beauty.
Remember that your true essence is above thoughts, which come and go because their nature is ephemeral and changeable, so don’t get too attached to them, but rather tune into your heart and your inuit, sources of great wisdom..
